Criminal Law

My firm often begins working with a client by providing advice to management on human resources and labor relations matters and by developing effective programs to deal with fast and ever-changing labor and employment law issues. We have assisted in guiding many employers through union organizing attempts. In collective bargaining negotiations, we provide advice to management and act as a negotiator at the bargaining table. We regularly defend employers in federal and state court against claims of employment discrimination. We also represent employers in proceeding before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, New York State Division of Human Rights, U.S. Department of Justice, U.S. Department of Labor and other federal, state and local agencies.

Employment Litigation
My firm represents employers in employment discrimination charges and litigation involving race, color, sex (including sexual harassment) age, religion, national origin, disability, marital status, citizenship, veterans’ rights and retaliation claims.
 
We defend employers in cases involving employment tort litigation, such as claims of negligent hiring and retention, negligent supervision, defamation, wrongful discharge, intentional infliction of emotional distress, invasion of privacy, and similar causes of action. My approach to litigation is to aggressively defend against claims in an efficient, cost-effective fashion.

Labor Relations
We provide advice on a day-to-day labor/management relations issues. In addition, we provide support to management in:

  • Union organizing and decertification drives
  • Discipline and discharge cases
  • Labor disputes, picket lines and strikes
  • Grievance proceedings

We also represent employers in unfair labor practices and union election proceedings.

Wage & Hour Regulations
We offer guidance to employers on compliance with the Fair Labor Standards Act and represent management in investigations of employee complaints by the Wage & Hour Division of the U.S. Department of Labor. We also defend employers in Wage & Hour lawsuits filed by private individuals or the federal government.
